Dear Members,

It is with great privilege and honor that I am writing to you, my fellow members of the Northern Ohio PGA, in regard to obtaining and serving as a Board Member for our PGA Section.

Through my Professional career, both playing and as a PGA Member, I have always held our Section in the highest regard. Over the years, I have gained such great admiration for my fellow PGA Professionals and all that they have offered. Our PGA Section is simply outstanding! The relationships and respect we have for one another is something that we all should cherish.

It would be a privilege and an honor to serve as a Board Member for our PGA Section. We have been fortunate over the years to have had such wonderful people representing us not only locally, but nationally…we are truly blessed. I was introduced to the game of golf at the age of 5 and fell immediately in love. I’ve been fortunate to have had some of the most amazing experiences in life that were a direct result of playing this great game. Working for some of the most amazing PGA Professionals all of whom have molded me professionally and personally, I can only hope that I may do the same for our up and coming PGA Members. I cannot repay these life experiences; all I can do is offer them to others.

I have been fortunate enough to serve on the Tournament Committee for the past couple years and over the past 5 years, served on the Apprentice Committee. I am striving for more…I want and wish to do more for our PGA Section! To give back to our Section that has done so much for molding my life.

In closing, I offer this to you; our Section has remained in fantastic hands and as our Section looks to the future, I would welcome the opportunity to help in any aspect needed. I have no doubt that whoever should be given the privilege to serve as a Board Member, and represent our Section, will do an outstanding job. Should I be fortunate enough to receive your nomination for a seat as a Board Member, I would proudly accept it with honor not for myself but for all of those who have given their time, advice, and direction in my life…professionally and personally.

With Warmest Regards,
Glenn Cunningham, PGA

Noah Horstman, PGA
Director of Instruction
Beechmont Country Club

My interest in golf became a natural progression into my current career. I started volunteering at a golf course picking up range balls in exchange for access to the course. By the time I was 12 years old I was on the course practicing and playing daily. Through high school and college, golf turned into my passion. Now I am thankful to be in an industry around the sport I love, coaching and sharing the game of golf. My passion for helping others, dedication to grow this great game, and energetic approach are a few of the many reasons I feel the need to serve on the Board of Directors for the Northern Ohio Section PGA.

With over three years of service to the section in just five years of living in Ohio; I have served on the Player Development Committee,Teacher of the Year Awards Committee and currently I am on the Education Committee. Being a younger member of the PGA I am full of energy and know that I can use that energy when it comes to developing new programs and continuing to improve on our current programs. If elected to the board I would like to focus on continued education and helping my peers with their Player Development programming.

I attended Pacific University from 2002-2006 where I led our team with a sub par scoring average my freshman year, earning the title of captain both my junior and senior seasons and received Northwest Conference Honors my senior year. I started working as an Assistant Professional at Centennial Golf Club in Medford, Oregon three days after graduating with a B.A. in Business. Soon after starting at Centennial I took the Head Boys Golf Coach position at South Medford High School.

I was offered a position as an Assistant Golf Professional at Illahe Hills Country Club in the fall of 2007. Within a year and a half I earned my membership into the PGA. After becoming a member I knew that instruction and coaching was the direction I wanted to take my career. In 2009 I became the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach at Willamette University where I coached four seasons and took both teams from last place to top 25 rankings in the country.

In 2010 I was nominated by my peers and won the Assistant Golf Professional of the Year, awarded by the Oregon Chapter PGA.
As a Head Professional/ Director of Instruction at Illahe Hills Country Club; I was nominated as the 2012 Oregon Chapter PGA Teaching Professional of the year, I became a US Kids Certified Instructor, and became certified as a NG360 (Nike Golf 360) golf specific fitness instructor. In February of 2013 I became solely the Director of Instruction where I created new and improved player development programs.

In May of 2013 I accepted the position as Director of Instruction at Beechmont Country Club where I recently finished my fifth season. I have introduced many new player development programs, junior academy with different levels, and ladies programs.

In addition to my work at Beechmont I also try to volunteer in the community whenever possible. In 2013 I took over as the Head Golf coach at Gilmour Academy building a program with over 30 kids and took them to state my second season. While at Beechmont I also started a Golf in the Parks program focusing on the use of SNAG golf to grow the game to juniors at Orange Village Park.

I have been married to the love of my life, Kimberly since 2011. She too loves to be outside and is starting to take up the game of golf. She is a Certified Pilates instructor and has helped with the fitness of the Willamette University Golf Team and taught many of my current students. We are blessed to have two beautiful daughters Emma who will be three in October and Jocelyn who was born in July.

I am excited to run for a Board of Director position with the Northern Ohio Section PGA. If selected to serve I will represent myself with the highest level of integrity and the standards of a PGA member. I am looking forward to getting to know each member and apprentice on a more personal level. If there is anything I can help you with please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or e-mail. At this time I ask you to consider me as a section Board of Director.

Golfingly yours,

Tim Perin, PGA
Assistant Professional
Lakewood Country Club
Dear Fellow Members,

I am writing this bio to announce my intentions to run for a board position of the Northern Ohio PGA. As both a PGA professional and also a native Ohioan, I have been a member of the NOPGA Section for over 10 years now, starting my professional golf career at Plum Brook Country Club back in 2007. Over the past ten seasons I have been very fortunate to have had the pleasure to get to know many of you, either from playing in tournaments, seeing you at the meetings or speaking with you over the phone. It is from these experiences that make me realize how truly special our section is.

Just like a lot of you, getting more involved in the section has been something that I have always wanted to do. As many of you know that have small children and work in the golf business, there is no such thing as spare time. Now as my kids are getting older, there is no better time than now for me to get more involved. I served on the tournament committee of the Toledo Chapter early in my career for a few years and this year on the player development committee of the NOPGA Section. I have also served on numerous awards committees as well. I feel that this experience would help me make that natural step to sitting on the board of the Northern Ohio PGA.

In my career, I have been truly blessed to have great friends and mentors helping me along the way. I would now relish that opportunity to now pass along that mentorship to others. I promise if elected, I will do my best to represent everyone not only within our organization but also in the community. I would like to thank you in advance for your support of my candidacy for the Board.

Respectfully,
Tim Perin, PGA

How I can help and assist the Northern Ohio PGA Section as a Board Member?
As a junior golfer competing in the NOPGA Kenny Novak junior series and PGA Maxfi Junior golf tournaments in Northeastern Ohio, I have seen firsthand how the golf industry has evolved over the past few years. I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunities that the NOPGA Section has bestowed upon me in taking the sport I loved as a kid to transferring it into a career path that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed since my first days in the golf business. I’m proud to have had the opportunity to return home to Ohio in the spring of 2015 to a place (Mill Creek MetroParks) where I played a number of high school golf matches as a junior golfer. Now with three seasons comfortably under my belt at the Mill Creek MetroParks Golf Courses, I would like to officially announce a run for the NOPGA Sections Board of Directors.

Having been elected to the Western New York PGA Sections Board of Directors in the fall of 2010, I feel I have a wealth of positive experiences that I would like to share with our Section. If elected, I would like to focus my time on building the financial stability of our NOPGA Section Foundation to assist us with our growth of the game programs, junior golf operations and H.O.P.E. programs within Northern Ohio. Growing and developing the next generation of juniors, men, women, seniors and potential future PGA professionals by creating new and fun opportunities will open new doors that will keep our Sections business healthy.

We have an abundance of positive things currently happening in our Section and I feel I could enhance them toward making a major impact that would be beneficial to all NOPGA Section members. If it wasn’t for an opportunity from the NOPGA Section when I was a 13 year old NOPGA junior golfer, I certainly wouldn’t be privileged to writing to you today as a fellow PGA Professional.

I’m asking for your vote to put my drive, energy and enthusiasm to work for you as a NOPGA Board member this October. #ThxPGApro

Sincerely,
Brian J. Tolnar
