Junior Golf Recap of Last Half of May and All of June: Seventeen 18-Hole Events and Five 9-Hole Events Completed!!
The Northern Ohio PGA Junior Tours is officially done with the first half of its season with 17 Junior Golf Events plus the Junior PGA Section Championship held Mid-June. The Months of May, June, and July are action packed with Tournaments welcoming all skill levels! In this recap, the last four Junior PGA Section Championship Qualifiers will be recognized as well as the continuation of our Junior PGA Series.
The Junior PGA Series is a compilation of both the Qualifiers and the remaining events on the schedule that our players can participate in with the opportunity to be invited to out 36th Kenny Novak Tour Championship at Club Walden, on June 24th (16-19 divisions only) & the 25th. This event is the final Junior Series event of the season and will mark the final chance for players to earn Jackson Dieken Player of the Year Points, which are used for invitational purposes and for Player of the Year Selection after the Tour Championship. All Player of the Year Winners of their Age Divisions receive a golf bag and a Plaques Recognizing their Accomplishments at the NOPGA Fall Meeting in October.
Please note that we still have FOUR regular season Junior Events remaining but there are a few more options for select players. The final regular season locations are as follows: Rawiga GC (July 5th), Pine Hills GC (July 8th), Chippewa GC (July 10th), and Fox Den GC (July 12th). We also have the Kenny Novak Tour Championship on July 24th & 25th (Invitation Only).
Another series for players interested in playing in College is our Collegiate Preview Series that has SIX events through the second half of July and first half of August: Fairlawn CC (July 16th), Mayfield CC (July 22nd), Alliance CC (July 29th), Lake Forest (August 5th), Youngstown CC (August 7th), and Barrington CC (August 12th). All events are open to Members & Non-Members ages 16-22. High-School Golfers cannot participate after August 1st if you have intentions to play on a team.
