David Griffith Named NOPGA Executive Director

The Northern Ohio PGA announces the retirement of Executive Director Dominic Antenucci, PGA, and Junior Golf Director Eileen Antenucci after 20 and 19 years of service in those positions, respectively.

During their tenure with the Northern Ohio PGA, the pair strengthened and grew the Section in a number of ways, and embodied its mission to promote interest and enjoyment in the game of golf.
Among many other notable achievements, the Antenuccis founded the Kenny Novak Tour and Championship (now the NOPGA Junior Tour) and grew the Northern Ohio PGA Junior Program to more than 600 members.

David Griffith, NOPGA tournament director of 20 years, has been named the Section’s new Executive Director. Griffith will oversee Section operations as well as all programs and services. He will work closely with Section officers and the board of directors to define and guide the Section’s vision for growing the game throughout Northern Ohio as well as supporting its more than 450 members.

Also transitioning into a new role is Lynne Plaisance. Plaisance, former office manager for 26 years, is stepping into the role of Director of Operations and Membership Services. She will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Section and fostering collaboration between all Section activities and programs.

Matt Rutland, PGA, has been named Director of Competitions. Formerly the Head Golf Professional at Westwood Country Club, he will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and managing the NOPGA’s tournament program, including site contracting, budgeting, sponsorships, administration, marketing, and promotion.

Brad Sims is being promoted to Junior Golf Director/Player Development. Sims has been Junior Golf Tournament Director for the past two years, and is now responsible for creating, scheduling, and managing all Junior Tour events, awards, and communications.

“Dominic and Eileen are leaving an outstanding legacy. Their passion for the Section and the game has defined golf throughout our region for two decades,” said Griffith. “We’re looking forward to picking up their mantle and carrying on their tradition of dedication and hard work.”
