East Team Retains Cup After Very Competitive Assistants Cup Matches
Chardon, Ohio- The East Team will retain the Assistants Cup for the second year in a row. After a slow start in the fourball matches the morning of day one, the East Team made a nice comeback in the Foursome matches to square the match after the first day of competition.
The West Team won the first two of the singles matches and looked like they were going to take control of the Cup, but after two halves in the third and fourth matches and then two wins in the fifth and sixth matches the East team would solidify the eight points needed to retain the cup.
With its 16th Year in the books, the East-West Assistants Ohio Cup tradition continues to be a highlight on the Section calendar. This Ryder cup style event features the top eight Assistant Club Professionals from the East and West Sides of the Northern Ohio PGA.
