Minute Men Ohio Open

Congratulations to Tim Ailes from Lewis Center, Ohio on winning the 93rd Minute Men Ohio Open in a playoff with Kevin Hall from Cincinnati. Both players ended the final round with a score of 201. Ailes then went on to birdie birdie both playoff holes, while Hall parred both. The playoff was two hole aggregate score.

Low amateurs were Boo Timko from Girard, Ohio and Ian Holt from Stow. Both players ended the final round with a score of 206.

OSU Golf Well Represented in Ohio Open

” Five members of the Ohio State men’s golf team will spend June 30-July 2 competing in the 93rd Minute Men Ohio Open Championship at the Westfield Country Club. The Northern Ohio PGA hosts 272 of the finest professional and amateur golfers from the state of Ohio.

The Buckeye contingency consists of Boo Timko, Grant Weaver, Logan Jones, Josh Wick and Clark Engle. The tournament spans 54 holes, playing one round on each of the three days of competition. It was first played in 1924 and has been held annually (sans 1943) at courses across the state. Ohio State’s Jack Nicklaus won the event as an amateur in 1956, one of five amateurs to claim the crown in the tourney’s history.”

Andrew Bailey from Rocky River is leading the Ohio Open after round 1 with a score of 66 (-6) on the South Course of Westfield Country Club. Defending Champion Colin Biles, Garrett Frank, and Dennis Holub(a) are only two strokes back. Competitors will be trying to survive the 36 hole cut to the top 60 and ties after the completion of Round 2 tomorrow.

Reminderville resident Holub tied for fourth in Ohio Open golf

“After the first round of the 54-hole Minute Men Ohio Open golf tournament, amateur Dennis Holub Jr. of Reminderville is tied for fourth place after shooting a 4-under-par 66.

Gary Trivisonno of Aurora and Mark Sierak of Reminderville are tied for 40th at even-par 70. Mitch Camp of Aurora is tied for 60th at 71, amateur Tyler McHugh of Aruroa is tied for 129th at 74, amateur Bud Radis is tied for 150th at 77 and amateur Evan Lerner is tied for 231st at 82.

The second round will be played Tuesday, after which cuts will be made and a final group will play in the third and final round Wednesday.

Andrew Bailey, an amateur from Rocky River, shot the first day’s best round — 6-under-par 64.”

The Northern Ohio PGA is hosting 272 of the finest professional and amateur golfers from the state of Ohio during the 93rd Minute Men Ohio Open Championship, June 30 – July 2 at Westfield Country Club in Westfield Center, Ohio.

Competitors will alternate play between the North and South Course for the first two days with a 36 hole cut to the top 60 and ties after the second round. The final round on Wednesday, July 2 will be contested on Westfield Country Club’s South Course.

The field consists of Past Champions, Colin Biles, Rob Moss, PGA; Chris Black, PGA; Dennis Miller, PGA; Mitch Camp, PGA, Gary Robison, PGA, and Gary Trivisonno, PGA and for the first time in the history of the event two female PGA professionals will be competing, PGA Apprentice Katie Jenior and Melissa Yeazel, PGA. Notable amateurs include Andrew Bailey, Chase Johnson, Ian Holt, Boo Timko, Grant Weaver, Brian Smith, Joey Krecic, and Bob Henighan.
