Assistant Championship – Mike Stone Wins In A Playoff!
Mike Stone, Fallen Timber Fairways has won The Northern Ohio PGA National Car Rental Assistant Championship after a playoff with Joey Bussdieker, Highland Meadows Golf Club. They both shot a score of 139 (-5) to get into the playoff. Mike made a birdie on the first hole to win. The event was contested at Shawnee Country Club in Lima, Ohio. Stone and Bussdieker will joined by Glenn Cunningham, Silver Lake Country Club when they represent the Northern Ohio PGA at the National Car Rental Assistant Championship, Oct. 30 – Nov. 2, at PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker Course) in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The facility will be hosting its nineteenth consecutive PGA Assistant Championship.

The 126-man field for this year’s 38th edition of the PGA Assistant Championship consists of the top-4 finishers from last year’s Championship, if eligible, as well assistant’s and apprentices from a weighted average of total entries of the 41 PGA Sections.
The winner of the 38th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship earns $9,000 out of a total purse of $100,000. The top-70 finishers and ties after the second round will make the cut.
