Emery Wins NOPGA Assistant Championship

Mike Emery is the Northern Ohio PGA Assistant Championship Winner. He shot a 36 hole total of 70 64 134 to win the championship by four strokes. The Northern Ohio PGA Assistants Championship was be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Fairlawn Country Club in Akron, Ohio.

National Car Rental was the title sponsor for the Northern Ohio PGA Assistants Championship presented by Cobra Puma Golf. National Car Rental contributed to the purse of the tournament, tournament signage and supplied a Champions trophy.

The Champion and two additional qualifiers earn a birth in the 36th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship presented by Cobra Puma Golf, November 1-4, at The PGA Golf Club (Wanamaker Course) in Port St. Lucie, Florida. This facility will be hosting its seventeenth PGA Assistant Championship.

The 126-man field for this year’s edition of the PGA Assistant Championship consists of the top 4 finishers from last year’s championship, if eligible and assistants from a weighted average of total entries of the 41 PGA Sections.

The winner of the 36th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Champinship earns $9,000 out of the purse of $100,000. The Champion, if eligible, earns a berth in the 46th PGA Professional National Championship, June 23-26, at Sunriver Resort, Sunriver, Oregon. The top 70 finishers after the second round, including ties, will make the cut.
