NOPGA Professionals Donated 420 Lessons!

The Professional Golfers Association is known world-wide for its generosity and charitable contributions and the Northern Ohio Section upheld that tradition at the recent North Coast Golf Show at the IX Center in Cleveland.

Simply, it’s called giving back. Approximately 25 members of the NOPGA either participated in the organization’s annual free 10-minute golf lessons or were stage presenters during the three-day show that annually attracts thousands of golf enthusiasts and signals that spring and golf season are not far off.

“We thank our PGA Professionals for donating their valuable time to support our efforts to grow the game. Our Professionals are the experts in the game and business of golf. The North Coast Golf Show is a very important part of our community outreach efforts. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet members of our community and either introduce them to the game of golf or to fix their swings with a quick lesson,” David Griffith, Northern Ohio PGA Executive Director.

NOPGA members gave 420 free lessons to people from all walks of our golfing life. Men and women. Children and seniors. Beginners and experienced. High handicappers and low.
Nothing is better than taking a lesson from those who do it best. The instructors who gave their valuable time and expertise were Dirk Hartman (Mud Run Golf Course), Bill Germana (PGA of America), Cary Bonham (Windmill Golf Center), Bill Reilly (Fox Den Golf Course), Steve Vaughn (Weymouth Country Club), John Grimm (Elyria Country Club), Judd Stephenson (Avon Oaks Country Club), Mark Scott Jr. (Westfield Country Club), Tiana Jones (Top Golf, Independence), Chris Sturges (Mallard Creek Golf Club), Bob Short (Windmill Golf Center), David Alexander (First Tee of Cleveland), Kristin Reboul (LPGA & Windmill Golf Center), Dan Banks (Signature of Solon), Rich Danch (College of Wooster), Steve Duhon (Fairlawn Country Club), Todd Casabella (Barrington Golf Club), Mike Martin (Sand Ridge Golf Club) and Nate Miklos Youngstown State University).

Alexander, Casabella, and Stephenson were joined by Dan Banks (Signature of Solon), Jim Wise (Mallard Creek Golf Club), Drew Pierson (Shaker Heights Country Club), and Scott Galayde (Windmill Golf Center) as stage presenters, offering tips on things such as off-season conditioning and training, swing thoughts and mechanics and the PGA’s Junior Golf League and junior programs.
