DeJacimo Elected NOPGA Secretary
Ron DeJacimo, PGA, Alliance Country Club was elected Northern Ohio PGA Secretary during the Fall Business Meeting on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Westfield Group Country Club/Cary Blair Center. His current term officially begins November 1, 2013 and ends November 1, 2014.
The election of the Officer’s Position of Secretary is for two consecutive 1-year terms. This individual will have the following responsibilities as an Executive Board Member: taking minutes at section meetings, serving on the Finance Committee and Planning Committee, Chair of Section Awards and Ethics Committees, overseeing financial reports distribution at meetings, and representing the section at PGA Annual and Regional Meetings.
PGA Professional
It is with great privilege that I am writing to you, my fellow members of the Northern Ohio PGA, in regard to obtaining and serving as Secretary for our PGA Section.
Through my Professional experience, both playing and as a PGA Member, I have always held our Section in the highest regard. Over the years, I have gained such great admiration for my fellow PGA Professionals and all that they have offered. Our PGA Section is simply outstanding! The relationships and respect we have for one another is something that we all should cherish. It would be a privilege and an honor to serve as Secretary for our PGA Section. We have been fortunate over the years in having such outstanding professionals representing us as a PGA Section not only locally, but nationally.
As many of you know me, I have always strived to be more progressive than passive in my drive to improve. I enjoy bringing fresh and new ideas to our Section as well as to my professional career. I have been fortunate enough to serve as the Board Representative to our Assistants/Apprentices over the past two years and feel I can pass that honor upon the next candidate with a stronger program than when I was asked to take that role on. I have no doubt that whomever is selected to be the Representative for our Assistants/Apprentices will do the same as it is his/her time to pass the torch. I also served on the Tournament Committee for several years prior to the above mentioned and continue to serve as the Chairperson for the Punta Cana Pro-Am. I am striving to make the next step…I want and wish to do more for our PGA Section! To give back to our Section that has done so much for me in my life is an honor that I do not take lightly.
I was introduced to the game of golf at the age of 10 and fell immediately in love. I’ve been fortunate to have had some of the most amazing experiences in life that were a direct result of playing this great game. Working for some of the most amazing PGA Professionals all of whom have molded me professionally and personally, I can only hope that I may do the same for our up and coming PGA Members. I cannot repay these life experiences; all I can do is offer them to others.
In closing, I offer this to you; as our Section has remained in fantastic hands and as our Section looks to the future, it would be an absolute honor to represent our great PGA Section as Secretary and strive to improve the NOPGA in any aspect needed. I have no doubt that whoever should be given the privilege to serve as our Secretary will represent our Section in the highest standard and will do an outstanding job. Should I be fortunate enough to receive your nomination for the position of Secretary, I would proudly accept it with honor not for myself but for all of those who have given their time, advice, and direction in my life…professionally and personally.
